TEENAGE Lotto winner Callie Rogers is facing bankruptcy - after blowing every penny on boob jobs, boyfriends, booze and buying-sprees.

Callie, now 22, who scooped £1.9 million when she was 16, is now skint, single and living with her mum in a tiny two-up two-down.

17/06/2009 - Brian and Joan Caswell from Bolton have jumped into third place in The National Lottery Rich List after winning a staggering £24,951,269.40. They banked half of the top prize in the EuroMillions draw on Friday June 12th, 2009.

Brian and Joan have quietly celebrated with close family across the weekend after learning of the win on Saturday morning. Brian went to his local shop as he does every Saturday to settle his paper bill and check his numbers. He recalled, "I had won £10 the week before so walked in all confident and said to the lad, I'm on a roll - here's another winner.

"When he scanned the ticket his mouth dropped open and he went a little ashen. He called for his boss to verify the numbers and told me to contact Camelot. I didn't have my glasses so couldn't even read the numbers on the ticket he gave me, so I headed home to get it into focus."

We found no evidence that you would get your winnings if a substantial sum was won, definitely a risk, for AA Lotto we have an owner living in Texas so we were absolutely sure that the purchasing of the Mega Millions and the Texas Lotto tickets would have been done on our lottery player’s behalf. So why did we not proceed, we went a step further and investigated the legalities of what would happen if we bought and won the jackpot, it was evident that the lottery authorities would pursue and take legal action against anyone they found who had re-sold, acted as an agent for, etc. in regard to US lottery tickets, it is quite simply illegal to play the US lotteries online or through the mail and this was to big a risk to take.

To win the jackpot and have it taken away by a fraudulent agent or by the lottery owner due to illegalities is simply too much risk for us to accept, however the final choice is yours and we wish you well in whatever you select.

Further to the risk we evaluated the Mega Millions against the Euro Millions and the UK National Lottery, the odds are obviously bad when playing any lottery but the odds of winning the Mega Millions is 1 : 135 million, wow! However the final analysis is also that any money won on the Mega Millions or the Texas Lotto will be subject to a cash option choice, this means the published jackpot prize is reduced by 50%, then the remaining winnings are subject to approximately 30% tax. As an example of this, the normal lowest jackpot for the UK National Lottery is £5.2 million, this is $10.5 million at today’s exchange rate, which is what you win and get in your hand. To get the same amount from the Mega Millions or Texas Lotto or for that matter any US Lottery; you would have to win a jackpot of $31.6 million to match the minimum of a normal Saturday win on the UK National Lottery.

Obviously from the above we would never recommend you playing any US lottery if the jackpot was less than $32 million; even if we felt secure enough to remove the risk of you not getting your winnings. When you add the Euro Millions and the rollovers of both our selected lotteries, we believe we provide access to the lotteries of best value which allow you to play, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday of any week.
